Children's choir makes first U.S. appearance (The Beacon News)
The Jirani Children's Choir from Kenya will perform as part of its first concert series in the United States at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Pheasant Run Mega Center, 4051 E. Main St., St. Charles. In December 2005, Kenya pastor Tae Jong Rim witnessed abandoned children scrounging for food in a garbage dump. Upon seeing this, Rim started the children's choir to help impoverished Kenya children.
